We are looking for an on-call payroll consultant who has in-depth knowledge processing payrolls.

This is not a full time permanent opportunity with stratmajix. We are looking for an independent contractor who can support our business as and when required.

We are looking for a subject matter expert in payroll.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of payroll procedures, tax regulations and a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance. You will play a vital role in helping our clients manage their payroll efficiently, allowing them to focus on growing their businesses.

Key Responsibilities : 

1. Payroll Processing: Process payroll for small business clients accurately and in a timely manner, including calculating wages, debt , and overtime as needed.
2. Compliance: Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, ensuring accurate and timely tax filings.
3. Client Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, addressing their payroll-related inquiries and providing expert guidance.
4. New Hires and Terminations: Handle new employee onboarding and termination processes, including setting up payroll profiles and managing final paystubs.
5. Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and organized payroll records for clients, ensuring easy access to historical payroll data.
6. Benefit Administration: Assist clients in managing employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions.
7. Reports and Analysis: Generate payroll reports as needed for clients and provide insights on payroll expenses to support decision-making.
8. Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies or issues promptly and professionally.
9. Customer Education: Educate clients on payroll best practices, compliance requirements, and payroll software usage.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably with small businesses.
• Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and tax compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Exceptional communication and client-service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients simultaneously.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
